“It will greatly improve ease of doing business by helping everyone else know exactly where not to invest,” the party said in a post on X, reflecting its discomfort with the group, which is also the largest private investor in Kerala.

In another post, the Congress targeted the BJP over the Enforcement Directorate‘s searches at Vedanta Group entities, alleging that the agency was being used to facilitate corporate acquisitions.
This is the first comment by the ruling party on the Adani Group after it took over the reins of power two weeks ago. The remarks underscore the state Congress unit’s unease with the Adani Group. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly accused billionaire Gautam Adani of benefiting from his proximity to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The comments come about 15 months after Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), announced plans to invest Rs 30,000 crore across multiple projects in Kerala over five years at the Invest Kerala Global Summit in Kochi in February last year.

The group also committed Rs 5,500 crore towards expanding the capacity of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport from 4.5 million to 12 million passengers annually.
In August last year, the then Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan laid the foundation stone for the Adani Group’s Rs 600-crore logistics park project in Kochi.
