GURGAON: Two alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, each carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, and a police officer were injured during an exchange of fire in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Sunday following a joint operation by the Haryana Police and the Delhi Police. The operation was carried out jointly by the STF Bahadurgarh unit of the Haryana Police and the Counter Intelligence wing of the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, based on specific intelligence inputs. The accused were identified as Pravesh, son of Jai Prakash and a resident of Tibba Danasher in Hisar, and Himanshu, son of Sushil Kumar and a resident of Jakhod Khera village in Hisar district. Police said both men were wanted in connection with FIR No. 379, dated June 11, 2026, registered at the City Hansi police station under Sections 103(1) (murder), 109(1) (attempt to murder), 3(5) (act done by multiple persons) and 61(2)(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act, in connection with the broad daylight murder of gym operator Kapil in Hansi. According to police, both accused carried a cash reward of ₹1 lakh each and were associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police said they had received specific intelligence that the armed accused had reached the Bahadurgarh area with the intention of committing a crime. During the operation, the accused allegedly opened fire, prompting the police team to retaliate in self-defence. In the ensuing exchange of fire, both accused and one police officer sustained injuries. All three were shifted to a hospital for treatment. Further investigation is underway.
