Charkhi Dadri: Two 15-year-old schoolboys who went missing from Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district were safely reunited with their families after police tracked them down nearly 1,300 kilometres away in Surat, Gujarat, following a swift investigation aided by cyber tracking. According to police, the boys, both Class 9 students, left their school on July 21 after classes ended. They travelled by the school bus and got off at the Hui bus stand. Before leaving, they told a teacher that they were going to buy books. However, they never returned home, prompting their worried families to approach the Badhra police station.A missing persons case was immediately registered, and a special investigation team was formed.

Police launched an intensive search, collecting technical evidence and examining multiple leads.Badhra SHO Inspector Kuldeep Singh said the investigation revealed that the two teenagers voluntarily left home with plans to travel. One of the boys was carrying around ₹4,000, which they used during their journey. The pair eventually reached Surat in Gujarat. While in Surat, one of the boys borrowed a mobile phone from a local person and called his family, informing them of their whereabouts. The family immediately shared the phone number with the police. “Without wasting any time, we forwarded the mobile number to the cyber cell for technical analysis. The number was traced to Surat, following which we contacted the person whose phone had been used. He ensured the boys remained safe until our team reached there,” Inspector Singh said.A police team led by ASI Anil travelled to Surat, where the boys were accommodated at the Popawala Children’s Home.
