COIMBATORE: Two men died after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in veered off the road and fell into a lake in Semmandampalayam in Coimbatore district on Wednesday night.The deceased have been identified as V Padmanabhan, 56, a private firm employee, and his relative N Senniyappan, 65. Both hailed from Tirupur district.According to police, Padmanabhan and Senniyappan visited Coimbatore on Wednesday for personal work. The accident happened around 8.30pm when they were returning home. Senniyappan, who was driving the SUV, lost control due to high speed, causing the vehicle to plunge into the lake.Residents rushed to the scene and managed to retrieve the bodies of the two men from the lake. They informed the Karumathampatti police. Police sent the bodies for postmortem and registered a case.
