Pune: In separate cases, two private employees collectively lost over Rs57 lakh to cybercrooks in online share trading and gold trading frauds.Separate complaints were registered with the Dehu Road and Bavdhan police on Thursday.An officer from the Dehu Road police said that the crooks added the complainant to a group of investors on a messaging app in Oct 2025. Then they persuaded him to download an app for investing in gold trading and collected Rs20.7 lakh through different bank accounts. “They neither returned his investment nor the promised profit,” the officer said.Similarly, a resident of Bavdhan lost Rs36.25 lakh to cybercrooks who promised high returns on investments in online share trading. The complainant transferred the money to different bank accounts between May and June this year but was later cheated.
