Amravati: Two murders kept the police department on toes in Amravati on Wednesday. Cops said that both the murders were committed after disputes over petty issues.Shubham Thakre (30) was stabbed to death near a liquor bar in Rajapeth area. The accused, Anup Pande (41), was arrested within six hours. Pande, originally from Dapori Khurd, Teosa, was residing in Swastik Nagar.According to police, a quarrel broke out between Thakre and Pande while drinking. Pande stabbed Thakre with a small knife. Later, the crime branch team, led by police inspector Sandeep Chavan, arrested Pande.In another incident, Jitendra Gaud was killed in Bhatkuli after a fight over food. The accused, currently undergoing treatment at District General Hospital, Amravati, will be arrested soon, cops said. Presently, he is under police watch at the hospital.The victim’s relatives revealed that a dispute over food escalated into a fight, during which the accused attacked Gaud with a sharp weapon.
