Koppal: Two people, who had allegedly consumed consumed alcohol supplied by an unauthorised seller in Kukapanapalli village of Koppal district recently, died on Monday. Another person is being treated at KMC-RI here.The deceased are Amarayya Hiremath, 35, and Ramesh Hosahalli, 25, residents of Kukanapalli. Munirabad police said Sharanappa Hanchinal is being treated.
According to the complaint filed by Ramesh’s father Yamanappa Hosahalli, four people fell sick after consuming the alcohol at a farm on Feb 4 night. “Despite knowing the fact that the spirit is not consumable, Maruti Bandi and Sharanappa Gurikar supplied it from a tanker. Both are responsible for the tragedy,” he said.Villagers said Bandi and Gurikar did not consume the spirit.SP Ram L Arasiddi said the duo has been arrested in connection with the case, which was registered on Feb 7.
