Chennai: Police arrested two men for burgling a weaver’s house at Kosavanpettai village near Periyapalayam. When Vijayakumar and his wife returned to their house after visiting a nearby temple on the morning of May 28, they found the roof tiles broken and their almirah damaged. About five sovereigns of gold and ₹80,000 in cash were stolen from the house. Following inquiries, police arrested Ganesan, 24, and Gunasekaran, 27, both residents of the same village. They had buried the stolen stash along Arani River. Police recovered three-and-a-half sovereigns of gold and ₹41,000 in cash from the spot.
