Kanpur: In the Chakeri and Sachendi police station areas of Kanpur, two people died in separate incidents after being hit by speeding vehicles. On receiving the information, police reached the spot and, after investigation, sent the bodies for postmortem.In the Sachendi police station area, Vinod Kumar (35), a mason and a resident of Harchandpur village, died after a speeding pickup hit his bike near Bhimsen. According to elder brother Ashok, at around 10 pm on Sunday night, Vinod had left saying he was going to the house of his sister Vimla, a resident of Bithoor, for Ganga bathing. He had just reached near Bhimsen when a speeding pickup coming from behind hit his bike. Passersby chased the pickup, caught it and informed the police. Sachendi police took the injured man to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Sachendi station in charge Dinanath Mishra said the driver has been taken into custody. Action will be taken on the basis of the complaint.According to Ghasitelal, a resident of Harchandpur village in Sachendi, Vinod Kumar’s family includes wife Gudiya and 4 children, Gudiya, Manna, Malvi and Bhura.Similarly, in the Chakeri police station area, Surendra (35), a resident of Rampur in Maharajpur, died after a truck hit him on the Ahirwa flyover while he was going to Satbari with a corn cart. He died on the spot in the accident. Chakeri Inspector Ajay Kumar Mishra said a report will be registered on receiving the complaint.
