Pune: The Baner police laid a trap and arrested two brothers from Chinchwad and seized 16 kg of marijuana worth Rs 6.55 lakh from them around 1.30am on Tuesday.Their motorcycle has also been seized. Senior Inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant of Baner police said, “We have arrested the two suspects identified as Abhishek Bhika Borase (24) and his brother Akshay (29), both residents of Chinchwad.““One of them was employed with a private company and the other one has been a driver. They were looking for the customers for marijuana when we nabbed them”, Sawant said.A police team comprising senior inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant, inspector Alka Sarag and assistant inspector Kailas Daberao arrested the duo in Baner after receiving a tip-off that they would be arriving in the area to sell marijuana. Acting on the information, the team laid a trap and nabbed them.“The two brothers had concealed the marijuana in turmeric packets to evade action by the authorities,” Sawant added.
