Patna: The state govt has nominated deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary as members of the Eastern Zonal Council (EZC).According to the notification issued by the home department (special branch) on Friday, the two senior ministers will represent Bihar on the council.Under the provisions of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956, two senior ministers and top officials from Bihar have been assigned the responsibility of representing the council.According to this notification issued by order of the governor and signed by K Suhita Anupam, special secretary, home department, Samrat has been nominated as a member from Bihar under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956. Minister of water resources and parliamentary affairs, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, has also been nominated as a member of the council.Nominations have also been made at the administrative level to ensure expert support and coordination in the council’s proceedings. Under the Act, the chief secretary of Bihar and the additional chief secretary of the state home department have been designated as advisors. These officers will provide technical and policy inputs to the regional council meetings.
