Nagpur: Tehsil police have registered a case of attempted culpable homicide after a 38-year-old painter was stabbed in the chest and hand and was also beaten near a mosque on Kabrastan Road in Mominpura on Wednesday morning. The argument over who was more dominant in the area had led to the attack.The complainant, Mohammad Firoz, a painter residing at Bhankheda, told police that he and the first accused, Junaid Asari (24), of Choti Line near Dobhi Nagar, were walking together when a verbal dispute broke out around 7 am. Firoz too has two past cases of theft against him.Junaid allegedly abused him and walked away. Shortly afterwards, Junaid called Mohammad Atiq (33) to attack him. The two allegedly attacked Firoz. Junaid stabbed him while Atiq rained blows on him. Atiq has two cases registered against him in the past, said police.Firoz was treated at Mayo Hospital. A case was registered at Tehsil police station. Police said investigation is on.
