Chennai: TVK Villupuram district unit on Saturday expelled advocate M Gnanasoundari from the primary membership of the party, days after she filed a petition in Madras high court alleging corruption in the appointment of law officers in district courts.“Gnanasoundari, who joined the party online, colluded with our enemies and made false allegations against our party. Since she acted against the party’s principles, she has been expelled,” said TVK Villupuram south district secretary N Mohanraj, urging cadres and functionaries to avoid associating with her.In her petition, Gnanasoundari alleged that TVK functionaries had collected amounts ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹30 lakh from advocates for appointments as govt law officers. The petition was disposed of on Friday after govt submitted that her applications would be considered. Law minister R Nirmalkumar denied the allegations, saying the appointments were temporary and that anyone found involved in irregularities would be removed immediately.
