Rourkela: A private tutor was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting two minor brothers during a tuition session. The accused, Abhisek Das (34), of Chhend, was arrested following a complaint lodged by the boys’ grandfather, a resident of Uditnagar.According to the FIR, the two brothers, aged 14 and 12, had gone to Das’s residence for tuition classes on Sunday. The complainant alleged that the tutor repeatedly beat the boys with a cane and slapped them during the class, leaving them injured. The younger boy reportedly sustained injuries severe enough to make walking difficult.The two minors underwent medical examination, following which police registered a case and launched an investigation. Police said they contacted the victims’ mother, who was out of station at the time of the incident. She reached Chhend police station on Tuesday and recorded her statement before investigators. “Based on the complaint and preliminary investigation, we have arrested the tutor,” said IIC, Chhend police station, B K Bhuyan. Police are probing the circumstances that led to the alleged assault and awaiting further evidence, including medical reports.
