Gurgaon: A 27-year-old labourer died after a truck hit him while he was walking near Basai Chowk Saturday morning. The truck driver fled after leaving the vehicle at the accident spot, police said.According to the complaint filed by the deceased’s elder brother Ram Jeevan, the victim, Arun, was unmarried and lived alone in a rented accommodation in Basai village, where he worked as a labourer.Police stated that Arun was walking from Bhawani Enclave side towards Basai Enclave, underneath the Basai flyover, around 6.30 am on Sept 26 when a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit him. He suffered serious injuries in the crash.An emergency response vehicle alerted cops at Sector 9A police station about the accident. ASI Sajjan Kumar reached Basai Chowk and found truck number RJ11GA8267 at the spot. The vehicle was taken to the police station and kept in police custody.Arun was taken by ambulance to Civil Hospital, Sector 10, Gurgaon. Doctors referred him to PGIMS Rohtak for further treatment. He died from his injuries while being taken to PGIMS Rohtak. Police later received a brought-dead report from PGIMS Rohtak and reached the hospital.In his complaint, Ram Jeevan, brother of the deceased, alleged that the driver of truck RJ11GA8267 was driving at high speed and in a negligent manner when he hit Arun. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Sector 9A police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death due to negligence) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on Sept 27.
