Agartala: Tripura fisheries minister Sudhangshu Das said he is optimistic that Bangladesh’s newly formed govt led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will ensure “justice and equality for all its citizens,” following Rahman’s swearing-in ceremony.Das said he hopes the new administration will take decisive steps to end reported violence, persecution and targeted attacks against the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory message to Rahman, Das said he believes the govt can revive democratic values and build a fair society where all citizens have access to impartial justice.He said he expects incidents of abuse and discrimination against the Hindu minority to be addressed and eliminated under the new leadership.Das also urged Rahman to intervene to secure the immediate release of Chinmaykrishna Das Prabhu, whom he described as “a victim of fabricated charges and unjust imprisonment.”
