Agartala: The Tripura govt is in talks with the Russian embassy to boost international investment in the state, officials from the industries and commerce department said on Monday.The Tripura govt has invited Russia to be a partner country for the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, aiming to strengthen collaboration in various sectors such as tourism, information technology, agro-processing, oil and gas, bamboo industries, healthcare, education, and technology. The event is scheduled for July 9 and 10.Despite the Trump administration’s tariffs and limitations on Russian energy imports, India and Russia are working to boost their trade relations.This initiative reflects Tripura’s commitment to attracting international investors and forging partnerships in sectors with significant growth potential. Trade between the two nations has greatly increased, and discussions are underway to establish a free trade agreement between India and the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union.Officials are confident that these collaborations will open up new opportunities for industrial development, innovation, job creation, and trade growth in the region. With forward-thinking policies and improved infrastructure, Tripura is gradually affirming itself as a vibrant investment hub in the northeast.
