Agartala: A BSF woman constable missed her flight to Karnataka after she was allegedly stopped at a road bloackade in Tripura while trying to reach her critically ill father, sources said.The jawan, posted along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhalai district, was granted leave after receiving news of her father’s critical condition in a village in Karnataka.She was travelling to the airport when she was held up at a blockade in the Baramura hill range, around 30km from Agartala. The bloackade was part of a protest by surrendered militants demanding a rehabilitation package.The jawan was stranded for several hours and reportedly pleaded with protesters to allow her to pass. She was eventually allowed to proceed, but by then her flight had departed.The incident has drawn attention to the impact of road blockades on people travelling for emergencies and other urgent reasons.The protests have disrupted traffic on key roads in the state, affecting commuters and those travelling for medical treatment, work and other essential purposes.The incident also highlights the difficulties faced by people caught in prolonged road blockades, particularly when they need to travel on short notice because of medical or family emergencies.
