Chennai: Police arrested a 42-year-old trainer for sexually harassing a 19-year-old woman student at a private technical training institute on Tuesday.The woman, a bachelor’s degree student, joined the institute about 10 days ago. On Tuesday morning, while she was in class, Manimaran, a trainer at the institute, sat next to her and sexually harassed her.The woman filed a complaint with the institute and later approached the Anna Nagar police station. Based on her complaint, police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.Police arrested Manimaran, and he was produced before a magistrate court on Tuesday evening and remanded in judicial custody.
