Bengaluru: Traffic restrictions will be in place across Shivajinagar from 1pm to 11pm Tuesday in view of the annual feast, flag-hoisting ceremony, and procession at St Mary’s Basilica.During the procession, vehicle movement will be completely restricted on several key stretches. Restrictions will apply from Balekundri Circle to Jyothi Cafe Junction (Jn), Shivaji Circle towards Jyothi Cafe Jn, Bowring Hospital Jn to Select Jn, Quadrant Circle towards RMS Jn and Bamboo Bazaar towards Sunni Circle. BMTC buses will also face restrictions on select routes, including between BRV Jn and Select Jn.Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes. Vehicles from Balekundri Circle can take diversions through Infantry Road, while vehicles from Commercial Street towards Shivajinagar can use Hospital Road. Vehicles from Bamboo Bazaar can turn near Saleem Garage and proceed via Thimmaiah Road.BMTC buses from Queens Road and Vidhana Soudha towards Shivajinagar bus stand will be diverted through Infantry Road and Central Street. Buses approaching from Anil Kumble Jn and Manipal Jn will have designated drop-off arrangements near BRV Junction before rejoining their routes.Meanwhile, parking will be prohibited around Russell Market and several surrounding roads, including Broadway Road, Central Street, Shivaji Road, Union Street, Infantry Road, Cubbon Road, Hospital Road and Lady Curzon Road.Designated parking facilities include Chota Maidan, Shivajinagar BMTC bus stop first-floor parking, Main Guard Cross Road opposite Safina Plaza, and the Old Congress Office parking area behind Ramada Hotel.
