Noida: A Delhi-based businessman claimed that cyber fraudsters hacked the login credentials of his digital gold and silver trading app, Bharat Batuk, and siphoned off nearly Rs 12 lakh from his wallet. He accused the director of the city-based company of his loss.Sachin Kumar Yadav, a resident of Delhi’s Gulabi Bagh, said he had found out about his loss after logging into the company’s mobile application and finding all his credentials changed and the account cleared out.The company, based in Sector 9, provides investment services in digital gold and silver from 2023. Yadav invested through the company’s mobile application and opened a virtual account with it to record his transactions.On Jan 13 this year, Yadav opened the mobile app and found that the details he registered on it—name, address, email ID, phone number, and bank account details—were all changed. He had about Rs 11.9 lakh in the virtual account, which moved to two different bank accounts through the app. He claimed the company cheated him and blamed the director, Pralabh Gupta, for his losses. A case was filed under BNS sections 318(4) (cheating) and 319(2) (cheating by personation) of and sections 66 and 66D of the IT Act.
