Bhilwara: Torrential rain lashed Bhilwara city Monday, bringing relief from the heat and humidity after a fortnight of largely dry weather. The rain came as a relief to farmers and residents amid below-normal rainfall this season. Most dams, ponds and rivers in the district are still awaiting adequate water.Farmers said the rain was particularly timely for crops such as cotton, jowar, bajra, and soybean, which need water. Meanwhile, pulse crops have already ripened. Farmers said the rain could give the standing crops a fresh lease of life.
