Times News NetworkChennai: Five officials of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission were placed under suspension on Friday following a preliminary inquiry in connection with the Group II and Group IIA exam fiasco on Feb 8.Those suspended include an under-secretary, two assistant section officers-cum-programmers, and two section officers, while disciplinary proceedings were initiated against a deputy secretary, the commission said in a statement.The commission had said a detailed probe would be conducted into the circumstances that led to the cancellation of the examinations. The action had been taken against officials found responsible for the lapse.The cancelled examinations will now be reconducted on March 15, again in two sessions. It added that additional safeguards and procedures were put in place to prevent similar errors in future examinations.
