Chennai: The state govt on Wednesday unveiled the Tamil Nadu agroforestry policy 2026, aimed at promoting sustainable agroforestry. Chief minister M K Stalin released the policy at the secretariat in the presence of deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, agriculture minister M R K Panneerselvam and chief secretary N Muruganandam.Govt officials said the policy has been designed to encourage farmers to raise high-value tree species such as teak, sandalwood, red sanders and mahogany without fear of regulatory hurdles.
