Chennai: Tamil Nadu recorded a pass percentage of 99.91% in ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) exams, the results of which were announced on Thursday.According to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), in Class X, all 2,997 girls who appeared for the exam passed. Of 3,434 boys who took the test, 3,428 (99.8%) passed. As for Class XII, 1,500 girls (99.9%) of 1,501 and 1,802 boys (99.9%) of 1,804 who took the test passed.For V Samyuktha from Primrose Schools in Injambakkam, who scored 392/400 in Class XII, the result reflected months of hard work. “I feel happy to have become the school topper. I thank all my teachers for my success,” she said, adding that she is now preparing to appear for the NEET UG exam scheduled on Sunday.”R S Navya from Vaels International School in Injambakkam scored 391 of 400 marks in Class XII. Class X student K Saiprasad from the same school scored 490 of 500 marks. While the scores are ranked out of 400 for ISC, the evaluation is done out of 500 for ICSE.“I want to take up science and pursue engineering later. I wish to specialise in chemistry,” said Sai Hridhay, school topper, Vellore International School (VIS), a new entrant to the ICSE/ISC domain. He scored 450 of 500 in ICSE. School heads say the results are encouraging even as the evaluation was tight. “Our ISC percentage increased, and 24 ICSE students scored a centum this year, most of them being in Biology,” said Ganesh Perumal, CEO of Primrose Schools.S Sujatha, principal of Vaels International School, said the school had 11 centums in ISC. “Our students have performed well even in subjects that they found tough,” she said.Vellore International School pricipal K Prabhakaran too welcomed the results. “Ours is a new school. We have achieved a 100% pass in ICSE. Of the 28 students who appeared for the exams, seven scored between 80 and 90%. The performance is only bound to improve,” he said.
