Kolkata: Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya on Thursday accused the Trinamool Congress of trying to wedge a divide between people in the name of religion and Babar.“Trinamool is promoting a politics of hatred. But Bengal believes in the coexistence of Ram and Rahim. Trinamool has started a new narrative, stopping Ram here,” he said. Bhattacharya accused Trinamool of intensifying religious polarisation in the state, leading to the rise of leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi and Humayun Kabir.
Bhattacharya also said the SIR process could not be complete without taking cognisance of every Form 7 filed by the BJP. “We have seen who the Dhritarashtra is. However, we need to find out if Gyanesh Kumar is Pitamaha Bhishma. We are looking for Bhishma who fought for the Kauravas,” he said.Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, who took part in a Ram Navami procession at Bhowanipore on Thursday, said: “Trinamool is trying to introduce the culture of Arabs here. But the nationalist Muslims will not agree to that.”
