“I entered Narkeldanga police station to save my life, not lodge any police complaint. I was followed from my residence by bike-borne BJP miscreants. They blocked my vehicle and attacked me and my vehicle. One miscreant used a hammer and broke the front glass of my vehicle. BJP is trying to kill me and the police is silent,” Ghosh claimed.

“My security personnel had to take his revolver to protect me and only after that did the miscreants leave. It all happened in broad daylight, when I left my residence to attend a non-political programme,” Ghosh claimed.
In a separate incident, stones and eggs were thrown at Ghosh’s car on Saturday by a mob in Hooghly while he was on his way to attend a rally by party chief Mamata Banerjee.
BJP spokesperson Debjit Sarkar said, “Why will BJP attack Kunal Ghosh’s vehicle when the Trinamool Congress party has become non-existent?”

Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee condemned the attack and posted on X, “I strongly condemn the attack on Kunal Ghosh, MLA from Beliaghata. This is the second time in less than 18 hours that he has been attacked. I appeal to Governor RN Ravi to intervene immediately and speak to the DG, West Bengal Police and the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata. Every perpetrator must be identified and brought to justice and this cycle of violence and intimidation must stop. The #VoteChor BJP must also answer a simple question. If it believes it has won West Bengal through the mandate of the people, why resort to intimidation and such tactics against those who refuse to change sides?”
