Kolkata: Trinamool Congress on Wednesday dissolved all party committees and frontal organisations following the dissidence of 60 Trinamool MLAs. With this decision, all party posts, including those of Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee and AITC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, have ceased to exist.
The Trinamool leadership, in a post on X, said the party would undertake a “comprehensive exercise of introspection, performance review and organisational assessment at every level” before reconstituting its organisational structure.
The party’s statement came hours after Ritabrata Banerjee arrived at the state Assembly with 59 other Trinamool MLAs backing his claim for the post of Leader of the Opposition (LoP) and submitted a letter to the Speaker.
