Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president and ex-MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who is set to launch her political party on April 25, said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) title is free and anyone can use the title. She made these remarks during an informal chat with the reporters on Friday. Four years ago, in 2022, the TRS became BRS to go national and is still continuing with the same BRS title despite some earlier suggestions to the party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to go back to the old name TRS.Kavitha has not announced the name of her party yet. She is considering Telangana Praja Jagruthi, Telangana Sarvodaya Party and a couple of other names. Now, with her comments that she would come up with an ‘old name and new agenda’, speculations are rife over her choosing the name as TRS. However, the party sources said the name of the party would be announced only on April 25. She said her party would follow the ideals of Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar in true spirit.Meanwhile, Kavitha raised serious concerns over the steep increase in private school fees, accusing school managements of exploiting parents. She demanded that the govt immediately introduce a fee regulation law and convene a special session of the assembly to pass the legislation. The Telangana Jagruthi chief said nearly 38 lakh students are enrolled in around 12,000 private schools across the state. She criticised these institutions for placing an excessive and unfair financial burden on parents.
