Jaipur: Congress and BJP are yet to announce their candidates for Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections, but several ticket aspirants have already filed their nomination papers, putting their claims on record. With multiple aspirants filing from the same ward, the contest within the two parties is already drawing attention even before the official lists are out.From Congress, 34 people have filed nominations from 25 wards as party candidates. Wards 11 and 47 have seen the highest number of Congress aspirants, with three people filing nominations from each. Two aspirants each have filed from wards 50, 99, 101, 140 and 145.BJP has seen fewer such cases. A total of 12 people have filed nominations from 11 wards. Ward 31 has two BJP aspirants, while one person has filed from each of the remaining wards.Sixty-nine candidates filed 137 nomination papers on Saturday, the second day of the process. On Thursday, the first day, 11 candidates had filed 13 nomination papers.The official candidate lists from both parties are now awaited. Once the tickets are announced, the picture is expected to become clearer in wards where multiple aspirants have already filed nominations under the party banner.
