Gurgaon: After a relatively dry Sunday, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places across Haryana on Aug 3 and 4, raising the possibility of intense showers in the city over the next two days.The weather office said light to moderate rain was recorded at isolated places in Haryana during the past 24 hours.It has forecast fairly widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms across the state from Monday to Wednesday, with heavy rain likely at isolated places on Monday and Tuesday. No weather warning has been issued for Aug 5 onwards.Gurgaon AWS recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius. No rainfall was recorded during the period up to 5.30pm Sunday. However, isolated rainfall was witnessed in some areas of the city. Gurgaon’s minimum temperature was 26.7 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in the city on Saturday was 32.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum stood at 26.4.Across Haryana, the average maximum temperature rose by 1.1 degrees Celsius compared with the previous day but remained near normal. The state’s highest maximum temperature was 37 degrees Celsius, recorded at Canal Colony Village Ottu in Sirsa district. The average minimum temperature fell marginally by 0.2 degrees Celsius and also remained near normal.Rainfall during the past 24 hours was confined to a few districts, with Narnaul recording 6.5mm, Kaul in Kaithal 8mm and Palwal 3.5mm, while several stations, including those in the city, did not receive measurable rain.IMD said the state’s cumulative seasonal rainfall from June 1 to Aug 2 stood at 379.2mm, which is 14.6% below normal.
