Nagpur: Three youths working at a rice mill drowned in a farm pond along the Ramtek-Mouda highway within the jurisdiction of Ramtek police station on Saturday afternoon. The bodies of two victims were recovered, while a search was underway for the third till the time of filing this report.The deceased were identified as Gulshan Kumar Mandal (20) and Manish Kumar Mandal (19), both natives of Purnia in Bihar, and Rupesh Kumar Sharma (18), a resident of Khagaria in Bihar.According to police, the three youths had been working at a rice mill located in an agro-fruit park in Nagardhan for the past 20 days. After finishing their work on Saturday afternoon, they went to a nearby farm pond.Police said they apparently could not swim and drowned in the pond. Two other workers noticed them struggling in the water and alerted the owner, who subsequently informed Ramtek police.A police team rushed to the spot and launched a search operation with the assistance of local fishermen. The bodies of Gulshan and Manish were recovered from the pond. Police have registered an accidental death case and started an investigation into the incident.
