Coimbatore: The city police on Sunday detained three suspects in connection with the murder of a street dweller near Peelamedu late on Saturday night.A special team was formed to trace the killers after the body of a street dweller was found bludgeoned to death under a tree near Greenview Telecom Colony, on Sunday morning. Police traced the men by analysing CCTV camera footage near the crime spot. All three have been detained, and further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, preliminary investigation revealed that the killers had stolen the man’s mobile phone and cash.The deceased has been identified as K Ranganathan, 56, of Venkatasamy Layout in Thanneerpandal near Peelamedu. Ranganathan had been living away from his family for the past 15 years and frequently took shelter on the streets.
