Prayagraj: Two youths were killed and three got injured after a SUV hit a motorcycle on Ayodhya-Prayagraj national highway late on Thursday night in Mauaima police station area, Prayagraj. Police said that the SUV, travelling from Pratapgarh, went out of control and crashed into divider before colliding with the motorcycle carrying two youths. The SUV then fell into a ditch. Police have seized the vehicle and have launched a search to nab the driver who fled the scene after the accident.Neeraj (20) died on the spot, while Sachin (21) succumbed to injuries at hospital. The three injured— Deepu (20), Arjun (24), and Pawan (18)— were admitted to hospital.Sachin’s family members said that he was preparing for competitive exams. Neeraj, the youngest among three brothers, was a Class 12 student at Swami Vivekanand Inter College in Soraon. His father works as a daily-wage labourer, while his brothers worked in Delhi. Neeraj and Sachin were going to Shahbazpur in Mauaima to attend their friend’s wedding. In another accident, a 16-year-old student was killed and two were injured near Garhwa Fort under Shankargarh police station limits on Friday. The students were going to appear for their High School examination when the accident occurred.Police said that three students of Maa Shivkumari Inter College, Lalapur, were going on a motorcycle to their exam centre at Dr Kailash Nath Inter College, Naudiya Uparhar, Shankargarh. As they reached near Garhwa (Ramna), their bike collided with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.Shiv Kumar (16) suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital but died on the way. The injured students were discharged after primary treatment.
