Gurgaon: Four persons, including three members of a family, lost their lives in a head-on collision between a motorbike and a tempo on the Delhi-Alwar road in Nuh on Wednesday afternoon.The accident occurred between 3pm and 3.30pm near Dhamala village in the Firozpur Jhirka area. According to police, the motorcycle carrying the family collided head-on with a pickup tempo coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the crash was so intense that all three riders of the motorbike, the teenager who was driving the bike, his grandmother and mother, died on the spot. The tempo drivers was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries later that night. The deceased riders were identified as Saif (16), Rashidan (62) and Jahida (38), all residents of Rangla in Firozpur Jhirka. Police said the family was on their way to a relative’s house when the accident took place. The tempo driver was identified as Aneesh (34).An investigating officer said the force of the collision caused the motorcycle to get lodged into the tempo from the driver’s side. “The front portion of the tempo, including the engine compartment, was severely damaged. Due to the impact, Aneesh suffered grievous injuries.” Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and shifted the bodies for a post-mortem. Traffic movement on the stretch was briefly affected before normalcy was restored.A case was registered against Aneesh under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS at the Firozpur Jhirka City police station. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the collision.
