Hazaribag: A three-month-old baby died allegedly after receiving vaccinations at an anganwadi centre in the Yadav Tola locality of Jhunjhuri village in Hazaribag district on Saturday.In her written complaint, Aarti Devi said her daughter, Riddhi Kumari, was called to the centre around 2 pm on Saturday afternoon for vaccinations. Auxiliary nurse midwife Poonam Kumari administered six vaccines to the baby in one sitting, the mother claimed.Family members alleged that the child’s health deteriorated suddenly around 11 pm on Saturday.They took her to the community health centre in Barkatha, from where she was taken to the sub-divisional hospital in Barhi, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. On the issue, the ANM said the infant received vaccines procured from the hospital, and that two other children, vaccinated at the same time, are in perfect health.Ajit Kumar Bimal, sub-divisional police officer, Barhi, said they have received a complaint at the Barkatha police station and are looking into the matter.
