Varanasi: Ghazipur police on Saturday solved the murder case of Rohit Yadav, whose body was found near a canal in Karimulapur (Vasdeiya) under the Shadiabad police station area of Ghazipur.According to police, the murder was planned over to an old rivalry. Three juveniles have been taken into police custody. A country-made pistol, cartridges, mobille phone of the decease, and the motorcycle used in the crime were recovered from them.ASP (city) Rakesh Kumar Mishra said the investigation involved CCTV footage, Rohit’s last movements, technical analysis, electronic evidence and circumstantial clues. Police found that Rohit and Shyamsundar Yadav alias Golu were friends.A woman known to Golu had earlier filed a case against him, accusing him of establishing physical relations on the pretext of marriage. Golu was jailed in that case. Later, Rohit associated with the woman and her sister, which angered Golu.According to the ASP, Golu planned Rohit’s murder with the help of three juveniles. On the morning of Jul 29, Rohit was taken on a motorcycle from Varanasi to an empty house in Dayalpur under the Shadiabad area.After procuring a pistol and cartridges, the accused took Rohit on a bike to a deserted spot near the Karimulapur (Vasdeiya) canal and killed him.During the investigation, police recovered Rohit’s mobile phone, which contained a video related to the incident. Police also found an audio recording in which the accused made Rohit speak to one of his acquaintances on the phone while intimidating him.The three juveniles were taken into police custody near the canal culvert at Baharampur Chaubaha on Saturday by a police team led by Shadiabad police station in charge Vagish Vikram Singh. Based on interrogation and recoveries, charges under sections 3(5) and 315 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with section 9/25 of the Arms Act, were added to the case. Police formed a team to arrest the absconding main accused, Shyamsundar Yadav alias Golu.
