Patna: Three bike-borne criminals allegedly opened fire near the main gate of Maner police station in Patna late Saturday night before fleeing. Police launched a chase and arrested all three after pursuing them for nearly 12 km.DSP II of Danapur Amarendra Kumar Jha said police received information about the firing and traced the suspects towards Khagaul. “A police team followed the suspects and intercepted them on the new road leading towards Khagaul near Chhitnawan. The team cordoned off the area from both sides and managed to apprehend the three,” he said on Sunday.The arrested accused were identified as Gautam Kumar, son of Praveen Srivastava of Ramnagar under Maner police station, Govind Kumar, son of Mukesh Sav of Gola Road in Danapur, and Golu Kumar, son of Anil Singh.Police recovered a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, two cellphones and the motorcycle allegedly used in the incident.According to police, Gautam allegedly fired the shot while Govind and Golu accompanied him on the motorcycle. Jha said investigators were examining their criminal records and probing their possible involvement in other incidents. “Further action will be taken based on the investigation.”
