Vadodara: Three youths from Pune in Maharashtra died in a road accident on the Indore-Ahmedabad highway near Dahod. The accident took place near Dhadhela village of Limkheda taluka in Dahod district.The accident took place around 3am when an SUV, believed to be travelling at breakneck speed, hit a divider and then swerved off the road. The SUV crossed a stormwater channel and open space on the side of the road and then hit an electricity pole.
The impact was so severe that the engine of the SUV came off and fell several metres ahead of the car. Other parts of the car were also strewn all around. All three people in the car were trapped in its mangled remains.Sources said the bodies were brought out with a lot of effort. Two persons were declared dead by paramedics at the spot. They were identified as Abhishek Yadav (26) and Sachin Biradar (27).Tejas Dagde (26), the third person in the SUV, was alive when he was examined by paramedics. He was rushed to a hospital in Limkheda for treatment. As his condition was serious, Dagde was referred to a hospital in Dahod, where he was declared dead after brief treatment.Limkheda police reached the accident spot and identified the deceased using identity documents they were carrying. Police inspector B K Chavda said that the families of the deceased were contacted. An offence will be registered after a relative files a complaint.Chavda said the deceased went to Odisha from Pune. “From there they came to Ujjain and visited the Mahakaal temple. They were going to Somnath from Ujjain when the accident took place. Going by the damage to the pole and the car, it is evident the car was at an extremely high speed,” said Chavda.Chavda pointed out that the road turns slightly at the place where the accident took place. “The driver did not negotiate the turn for some reason, causing the accident,” he said.
