Three drown in separate incidentsPatna: Three people, including two women, drowned in separate incidents in flood-hit areas of Vaishali and Patna districts within 24 hours. Another woman was rescued and is undergoing treatment at Sonepur Sub-Divisional Hospital.On Sunday, Geeta Devi, 47, drowned in Baburbani village under Gangajal panchayat in Vaishali after she and her sister-in-law reportedly lost their footing while crossing floodwaters. Locals rescued the other woman. Police recovered Geeta’s body and initiated proceedings.On Saturday, Yogeshwar Paswan, 35, drowned in Paschimi panchayat of Sabalpur diara while trying to retrieve belongings from his flood-submerged home. Locals pulled him out, but he had died.Another woman, Sangeeta Devi, drowned in floodwaters at Hawaspur village under Shahpur police station in Danapur on Saturday night. She had come for her grandmother’s funeral. Her family alleged they had to carry her body about 500 metres to a hospital as no ambulance was available. Hospital authorities said they had received no ambulance call.
