Ara: A routine ride home turned into a tragedy on Sunday morning when three young men lost their lives in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on Bihiya-Bihta state highway in Bhojpur. The victims, all from nearby villages, were returning from their respective journeys when the fatal crash ended their lives.The incident took place near Dhobighatwa locality under Piro police station area in Bhojpur district.The deceased were identified as Golu Kumar (20), son of Badal Ram of Dharhara village under Bihiya police station, his friend Shakti Kumar (25), son of Gama Ram, and Pradeep Kumar (30), son of Lalan Singh of Tenduni village under Jagdishpur police station in the district.

“The accident occurred around 10.30am. Locals then informed the Dial-112 emergency helpline. All three men, who sustained grievous injuries in the crash, were rushed to the Piro Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared them brought dead,” said Deepak Kumar, SHO of Piro police station.According to police, Golu and Shakti were returning to their village from Karakat in Rohtas district when their motorcycle collided head-on with another bike ridden by Pradeep, who was on his way to a relative’s house in Piro. The impact of the collision was so severe that all three died on the spot.Police recovered a helmet from the accident site but are yet to ascertain to whom it belonged. The bodies were sent to Ara sadar hospital for the postmortem.
