Prayagraj: A three-day OOSC – Opportunity Open Source Conference will be held at Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) from Aug 28 to 30.The conference will bring together open-source contributors, developers, maintainers, researchers, industry professionals and students from across the open-source ecosystem. The event will feature expert talks, technical workshops, panel discussions, hands-on sessions, networking opportunities and a hackathon.OOSC aims to help participants understand how real-world software is built, maintained and improved through open collaboration, and to encourage them to become active contributors to the open-source ecosystem, including those making their first contribution.The conference will cover a diverse range of technologies and open-source communities, including Linux, Open Source and Open Printing, Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models and Machine Learning, Cloud and modern developer technologies, Systems Programming and Operating Systems, IoT and embedded technologies, Google Summer of Code (GSoC) and open-source contribution and Open-source documentation, community building and collaboration.Alongside expert talks and panel discussions, OOSC will offer interactive technical workshops and hands-on sessions, enabling participants to work directly with the technologies and tools being discussed.Among the prominent voices associated with the OOSC community is Till Kamppeter, OpenPrinting Project Leader and a Linux Foundation Fellow. His work spans Linux printing and open-source infrastructure. Participants at previous editions of OOSC have particularly appreciated his sessions for their practical insights into open-source technologies and careers.
