Noida: Three parked cars were gutted after a fire broke out in the basement of Gardenia Glory Society in Sector 46 late Monday night. No one was injured in the incident, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.According to the fire department, the blaze started in a parked CNG car and quickly spread to two SUVs parked next to it.A security guard first spotted the fire and alerted residents and the society’s maintenance staff, who began dousing the flames using the building’s firefighting equipment before informing the fire department.Chief fire officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey said the department received a call around 11.45pm and rushed two fire tenders to the spot.“By the time firefighters reached the society, the basement had filled with smoke and the fire had spread to two nearby vehicles. Firefighters entered the basement wearing breathing apparatus sets and brought the blaze under control,” Chaubey said.He said the maintenance staff and security personnel had managed to contain the fire to a large extent before the fire brigade arrived. Firefighters then completely extinguished the blaze using the society’s firefighting system and water from the fire tenders.Police and fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
