COIMBATORE: The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) of the Coimbatore city police on Saturday arrested three men for supplying ganja to IT professionals and students here.The arrested have been identified as A Gowtham, 25, of Ganapathy, A Rahul Kumar of Avarampalayam and S Dinesh Kumar, 26, of Kurumapalayam. Acting on specific intelligence about individuals involved in ganja supply to IT professionals and students in the Saravanampatti and Kalapatti neighbourhoods, PEW police led by inspector M Miadit Mano conducted a check near Sungam. They intercepted a car and found ganja in it.Following this, police seized the car and took the trio to the police station for further inquiry, which revealed that they used two more cars and a motorcycle to supply ganja. Police seized three cars, a motorcycle and 4 kg of ganja from them.Police registered a case against them under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The trio were remanded in judicial custody. Police have initiated a process to freeze their bank accounts.
