Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has issued an important corrigendum regarding the LT Grade Teacher Recruitment-2025, following directions from the Allahabad High Court. The commission has clarified that assistant teachers selected under the recruitment process will teach only students of Classes IX and X in govt secondary schools. The clarification comes after petitions were filed before the Allahabad High Court challenging certain provisions of the recruitment advertisement issued on Jul 28, 2025 for recruitment of assistant teachers in various subjects under the Trained Graduate Teacher (LT Grade) category. Petitioners had argued that selected teachers could also be assigned to teach students of Classes VI to VIII, even though the recruitment advertisement did not mention Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which is mandatory for teaching at the upper primary level. After hearing the matter, the high court had on Apr 2, directed the commission to specify clearly in the recruitment notification that the appointments were only for teaching work at the secondary level, specifically Classes IX and X.In compliance with the court order, the commission has now released a revised notification clarifying scope of appointments. Examination Controller Harshdev Pandey said all teachers selected under the LT Grade recruitment process would be appointed strictly for secondary-level teaching assignments. The clarification is expected to remove confusion among candidates regarding eligibility and teaching responsibilities under the recruitment drive. Officials said the revised notification would ensure transparency and compliance with prescribed educational norms for secondary education appointments in UP govt schools.
