Some endings happen once.
Others seem to happen in stages.
A connection becomes distant. You try to revive it. It returns briefly, then fades again. You hold on because the familiar version of that person or situation still exists in your memory.
Eventually, there is nothing left to chase.
That can be painful, but it can also teach something surprisingly simple: not everything needs to be rescued.
There are moments when peace begins with accepting that an ending is an ending.
Sometimes noticing is the real turning point
We tend to look for life-changing signs in extraordinary moments.
But awareness can arrive much more quietly.
It may be the sudden realisation that you have been having the same conversation for years. That you keep saying yes when you mean no. That you are still chasing something simply because you once wanted it badly.
Perhaps life is not repeating itself to punish you.
Perhaps you are simply being given another chance to see something that was difficult to recognise the first time.
And sometimes, once you finally notice it, you do not need another lesson.
