Mangaluru: Sixth additional district & sessions judge, Rajesh Maruthi Kamate, Thursday rejected the bail application filed by activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarody in connection with a case involving alleged abusive phone calls, threats and derogatory remarks against a Yakshagana artiste and the artiste’s mother.Police have registered a case under sections 196(1), 352, 351(2) and 79 of BNS at Dakshina Kannada women’s police station.Public prosecutor Mohan Kumar opposed the bail plea, citing three Supreme Court judgements and drawing the court’s attention to the criminal antecedents of the accused.
