Pune: Unidentified thieves decamped with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs98.5 lakh from a jewellery store at Magarpatta in Hadapsar between 1.20am and 2.45am on Monday.Store owner Sandip Talegaonkar (58) has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Hadapsar police.Senior inspector Sanjay Mogale of Hadapsar police told TOI: “The incident came to light around 11am on Monday when the complainant and his employees reached the shop to open it for the day.”Mogale said, “The shop is under CCTV camera surveillance. A preliminary examination of the footage shows that three to four men broke open the front shutter locks and entered the premises. They packed the gold and silver jewellery into bags and fled on foot. We suspect their vehicle was parked at a distance.”The suspects mainly took silver jewellery and artefacts, along with a couple of gold chains, he said, adding that though the area is crowded in the day, it remains deserted at night.Police have formed a team to track the movement of the suspects and a crime branch team is conducting a parallel investigation.
