KRISHNAGIRI: Officials rescued 10 people, including four children, from bonded labour at a brick kiln in Madathanur in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday. Based on a confidential complaint, a team led by child labour commissioner V Sankar conducted a surprise inspection at the site. “During the inspection , three men, three women and four children were freed from forced labour conditions,” Sankar said.The rescued people were given first aid and counselling before being sent to their native places.Officials noted that similar rescues took place in the same village last year.The Pochampally police registered a case against brick kiln owner S Tamilselvan.
