Hyderabad: The govt has launched an initiative to boost Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding in the state with an ambitious target of collecting 2,500 crore this fiscal. To facilitate this effort and strategise collection of funds, a dedicated organisation called “Telangana Industries” is being formed, with ongoing discussions involving various companies and organisations.So far, officials report that 700 crore to 800 crore have been collected in CSR funds, and the govt remains focused on its target. Plans are in motion to attract CSR contributions through collaboration with international firms, large organisations and NGOs.These funds are earmarked for a variety of development projects, including upgrading facilities at govt schools, enhancing hospitals and healthcare services, implementing environmental protection initiatives, supporting rural development and improving water resources, advancing women’s empowerment programmes, and fostering startup growth. Over the past three years, CSR funding in Telangana has shown a steady upward trend. Compared to the central govt, the state is placing a stronger emphasis on utilising these funds for rural development programmes.
